The courage that it has taken for me to stand up,

to turn down wealth,

to turn down power,

to turn down the “safe” path,

came from you,

from the kindness you’ve put into the world.

I grew up here--you raised me, and my parents, and their parents.

I have not forgotten that.

I will repay that kindness In the way I best know how.
